Bilateral trade agreement

Well, let's imagine you have a toy that your friend really wants to play with. Your friend also has a toy that you really want to play with. You both really want to play with each other's toys. So, you make a deal. You agree to let your friend play with your toy for a certain amount of time, and in exchange, your friend agrees to let you play with their toy for a certain amount of time. This is kind of like a bilateral trade agreement between you and your friend.

When countries want to trade things with each other, they can also make agreements like this. They agree to trade certain things with each other for certain amounts of time or money. This is called a bilateral trade agreement between those two countries.

Countries might do this to try to help their own economy. For example, if one country is really good at growing bananas and another country is really good at making cars, they might make a deal to trade bananas for cars. This way, both countries can have what they need and want without having to make everything themselves.

Bilateral trade agreements can be a bit complicated, but they're really just two countries making a deal to trade certain things with each other.
