Bill Felstiner is a person, just like your mom or dad. He's grown up and probably very smart. You might even call him a grown-up kid because he likes to learn things and make them better.
Mr. Felstiner is really good at understanding how people think and feel, especially when they're going through a tough time. Sometimes, bad things happen and people get hurt or lose something important to them. This can make them feel sad, angry, or scared.
Mr. Felstiner knows that these feelings are normal, and he wants to help people feel better. He is especially interested in when people feel like they've been treated unfairly or aren't getting the help they need.
Some people might go to court to get help, but that can be really scary and confusing. So, Mr. Felstiner came up with a new idea called "alternative dispute resolution" (ADR). This just means that instead of going to court, people talk to each other with the help of a specially trained person who can help them work out their problems.
Mr. Felstiner is really good at teaching other people how to do ADR, so that fewer people have to go to court and everyone can feel better about their situation.
