ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Binding problem

The binding problem is a problem scientists have when trying to figure out how our brains work. Our brains can take in lots of different pieces of information at the same time and then put them together to make decisions. But scientists don't know how our brains do this, which is called the binding problem. It's like trying to figure out how all the pieces of a puzzle fit together, but you don't know what the picture is supposed to look like. Scientists have lots of ideas, but they haven't quite figured it out yet!
