ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Binoviewer

A binoviewer is a device that lets you see things with both of your eyes, just like your normal vision. It's like having two tiny telescopes or microscopes that you can look through at the same time!

Normally, when you use a telescope or microscope, you only look through one eyepiece at a time, so you only see things with one eye. But a binoviewer changes that! It splits the image from the telescope or microscope into two parts, so that you can look at it with both eyes at once.

The binoviewer does this by using special glass prisms inside the device. The prisms split the light coming from the telescope or microscope into two parts, and then bring those two parts back together again so that you can see them with both eyes.

Using a binoviewer can be really cool because it makes things look more three-dimensional, like they're popping out at you! It can also make it easier to see fine details in whatever you're looking at, because your brain can use both eyes to help interpret the image.

Overall, a binoviewer is just a neat tool that helps you see things with both eyes at once, and can make looking at the world through a telescope or microscope even more fun!
