Biscotti

Biscotti is a kind of cookie that comes from Italy. It's a long, hard cookie that is usually dipped in coffee or tea before eating. The word "biscotti" means "twice baked" in Italian.

To make biscotti, first you mix together flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and other ingredients like nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit. Then you shape the dough into a long, skinny log and bake it in the oven until it's golden brown.

Next comes the "twice baked" part. You take the log out of the oven and let it cool for a little bit. Then you cut it into slices that are about as thick as a grown-up's finger. You put the slices back in the oven and bake them again, but this time for a shorter amount of time. This makes them very hard and crunchy.

Biscotti can be flavored in lots of different ways. Some popular flavors are almond, chocolate, and orange. They're a great snack to eat with a hot drink, or you can give them as a gift to someone you love.
