ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bison

Bison are big animals that used to roam all over North America, kind of like big cows with shaggy hair and horns. They eat grass and other plants, and they used to be very important to the people who lived here before Europeans came. Sometimes bison were hunted for their meat and fur, but they were also seen as powerful and respected animals in many cultures. Nowadays, there are still bison in places like Yellowstone National Park, where people can go and see them up close. Since bison are so big and powerful, it's important to be careful around them and give them plenty of space.
