Bisu Parba

Bisu Parba is a festival celebrated by the Kiranti people of eastern Nepal. It is similar to New Year's Day in other cultures, and it marks the beginning of a new year.

During the festival, people dress up in traditional costumes and perform dances and rituals to honor their ancestors and seek blessings for the coming year. There is also a lot of singing and feasting during the festival.

Bisu Parba is celebrated in the month of Baisakh (usually in April) and lasts for about a week. People clean their houses and decorate them with flowers and colorful flags. They also hang bamboo poles adorned with symbols and offerings outside their homes.

Throughout the week, different ceremonies and rituals are performed to mark the different stages of the festival. One of the most important traditions is the Kukur Pooja, where dogs are worshipped and given offerings as they are considered to be the guardians of the home.

Bisu Parba is a time for the Kiranti people to come together and celebrate their culture and traditions. It is a joyous occasion filled with singing, dancing, and good food.
