Bitts

Okay kiddo, let's talk about bitts! Have you ever seen a big boat? Yeah, like those ones that can carry people and cargo across the sea. Well, bitts are a very important part of those boats.

Bitts are like big poles sticking out of the deck of the boat. They are usually made of strong metal like steel or iron. These poles have special shapes on the top that kind of look like lollipops.

Now, when the boat stops at a port or harbor, it needs to stay there without moving around too much. And that's where the bitts come in. The ship’s crew uses special ropes to tie the boat to the bitts so that it doesn't float away or bump into anything.

So basically, bitts are huge metal poles that stick out of boats and help them stay put when they're docked. They're like giant anchors that keep the boat from drifting away in the water. Pretty cool, huh?
