ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bixi

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen those cool bikes in the city that people can rent and ride around on? That’s called Bixi!

Bixi is a bike-sharing system, which means it’s a way for people to share bikes instead of owning their own. Bixi bikes are meant for short trips around the city, and you can pick them up from special stations and drop them off at other stations when you’re done riding.

To use Bixi, you need to have a membership or pay for each ride. Members get a special card, kind of like a credit card, that they use to unlock the bikes at the stations. Once you’ve unlocked the bike, you can ride it anywhere you want within the Bixi coverage area.

The bikes are designed to be easy to ride and comfortable for most people. They’re also built to be sturdy so they can handle lots of use. Bixi stations are usually placed in busy parts of the city, like near train stations or shopping districts, so they’re easy to find.

Isn’t that cool? Now you know a little bit about Bixi!
