ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Blinders

Blinders are like little glasses that are worn by horses. They have little cups on the side that act like big hats around their eyes. When a horse has blinders on, it means they can only see straight ahead of them and nothing on the side.

Think about when you're watching a really good movie and you get so focused on the screen that you don't notice what's going on around you. That's kind of like what blinders do for horses. They help them concentrate on the road in front of them, without getting scared or distracted by things on the side.

This can be really helpful when a horse is pulling something heavy like a carriage, or when they're racing with other horses. It makes them less likely to get spooked by anything that might be going on around them, and it helps them stay focused on the task at hand.

So, blinders help horses stay calm, focused and on-task - just like putting on your blinders when you have an important project to do!
