Blockmodeling is a way of looking at how different items or people--such as countries, companies, or people--fit together. It's like taking a bunch of puzzle pieces, and figuring out how they should be put together to make the right picture. Each of the puzzle pieces is a "block" in the model, and they are connected to each other in some way--for example, one country might be connected to another because they trade with each other. Blockmodeling helps us see how different things, like countries or people, fit together.
