A Jedi is a person in the Star Wars universe who uses the Force, which is a powerful and mystical sense, to do amazing things. Jedi are good and powerful warriors and use their powers for the protection and wellbeing of others, rather than for personal gain. They have committed themselves to follow a set of teachings and ideals, known as the Jedi Code, and use their Force powers to help those in need and defend the galaxy from evil.
