Blue water thesis

The blue water thesis is a way of looking at the relationship between countries and their power. It says that a country's power comes from the number and size of the naval ships they have. Countries that have a lot of big ships (called a blue water navy) can move from place to place and control the oceans and seas. This means they can protect their trading routes, invade other lands, and fight wars with other nations. So, having a lot of big ships can give a country a lot of power and make them more successful.
