Okay kiddo, do you know what a bonsai is? It's like a teeny tiny tree that some people like to take care of and make look really special. Kinda like a pet!
Well, different people like to make their bonsai trees look different. They do this by changing the shape of the tree in different ways. This is called bonsai styles!
There are lots of different bonsai styles, but we can talk about a few of them together.
The first one is called formal upright style. This means that the tree grows straight up, like a real tree does. The branches grow out in a nice symmetrical way, like someone drew it that way. It's very pretty!
Another style is called informal upright style. This means that the tree still grows straight up, but it doesn't look quite as symmetrical. Maybe one branch grows a little crooked, or a leaf sticks out in an unexpected way. It's more relaxed and natural-looking.
A third style is called slanting style. This is when the tree looks like it's growing at an angle, maybe like it's leaning in the wind. It can be fun to play with different angles and see what looks cool!
There are lots more bonsai styles, but those are a few that you and I can talk about. I hope that helps you understand how people make their bonsai trees look different!
