ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Borneo

Borneo is a really big island in Southeast Asia. It's so big, it's actually the third largest island in the whole world! Borneo is split up into three parts, with each part belonging to a different country. One part is owned by Indonesia, another part is owned by Malaysia, and the third part is owned by the small country of Brunei.

Borneo is a really special place because it's home to so many different animals and plants that you might not be able to find anywhere else in the world. Some of the most famous animals that live in Borneo are orangutans, which are very peaceful and intelligent apes that can only be found in Malaysia and Indonesia. Borneo is also home to some of the most beautiful and exotic birds, like the hornbill and the kingfisher.

The island of Borneo is covered in thick rainforests and jungles, which make it a really amazing place for nature lovers to explore. But, sadly, many of Borneo's forests are being cut down by people who want to use the land for things like farming or building cities. This makes it really important for us to protect Borneo's forests and the animals that live there, so that they can continue to thrive and be around for many years to come.

Overall, Borneo is a really special place because it's home to so many incredible animals and plants, and it's up to all of us to help protect it!
