Botijo

A botijo is a special kind of water container that people in Spain and some other places use to keep their water nice and cool. It is made out of clay, which is a kind of dirt that can be shaped into different things when it is wet and then dried out.

The botijo looks kind of like a fat bottle with a pointy spout at the top. This spout helps to pour the water out of the botijo. But the most important part of the botijo is on the inside - it has tiny little pores or holes all over it, like tiny little windows. When you put water inside the botijo, the water slowly seeps through these tiny holes and comes out the other side.

This might seem weird, but it actually makes the water nice and cool! When the water seeps through the holes, it takes some of the heat with it, which cools down the rest of the water inside the botijo. So when you drink from the spout, you get a nice refreshing sip of cool water.

So, the botijo is a special container made of clay that has tiny holes all over it to help keep water cool, and it is used in Spain and some other places to enjoy cool water on hot days.
