Box-bed

A box-bed is a special kind of bed that comes with a box-like structure at the bottom. This structure not only supports the mattress but also provides extra storage space below the bed.

Box-beds were commonly used in olden days, especially in Europe and Scandinavia. They were also popular in areas with cold climates because the box structure could trap heat and keep the sleepers warm.

The box structure of the bed was made of wood and was usually big enough for a person to sit inside. The top of the box was covered with a mattress, which was sometimes stuffed with hay or grass for added comfort.

Some box-beds also came with doors or curtains that could be closed to provide extra privacy or keep out cold drafts.

Overall, box-beds are a special kind of bed that provides extra storage and protection from the elements. They were commonly used in the past, especially in cold climates.
