ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bra size

Bra size is how we measure the size of a bra. A bra is like a special shirt that girls and women wear to keep their chests comfortable and supported. When you go to the store to buy a bra, you need to know what size to get so it fits nicely.

To figure out your bra size, you need to measure two things: your band size and your cup size. The band size is the measurement of the part of your chest where the bra sits. To measure this, you can use a tape measure and put it around your chest right under your breasts.

The cup size is the measurement of how much space your breasts take up in the bra. Cup sizes range from A to D and beyond. To figure out your cup size, you have to measure the fullest part of your breasts (where they stick out the most) and then subtract that from your band size.

For example, if your band size is 32 and your breast measurement is 36, you would be a 32D because you subtract 32 from 36 to get 4, which corresponds with a D cup.

It's important to remember that bra sizes can vary between different brands and styles, so it's always a good idea to try on different sizes and styles to see what feels the most comfortable and supportive for you.
