ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bradford Factor

Bradford Factor is a way to measure how often you are late or absent from work. It uses a simple formula to calculate a score based on the number of times you are late or absent, and how long you are away for.

The formula goes like this:

(B x B x D) = Score

B stands for the number of instances of absence or lateness, and

D stands for the total number of days absent or late.

So, for example, if you are late for work 3 times in a month, each time being 10 minutes late, your B score would be 3, and your D score would be 0.5 (since you were 30 minutes late in total, which is half an hour).

Plugging that into the formula, you would get a Bradford Factor score of 45 ((3 x 3 x 0.5) = 45).

The higher your Bradford Factor score, the more likely it is that your employer will take action against you, such as initiating disciplinary proceedings or even termination of your employment.

In summary, the Bradford Factor is a scoring system that helps employers track employee attendance and punctuality, and determine whether they need to take further action to improve it.
