ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bradley–Terry model

Okay, so imagine you’re playing a game with your friends where you have to choose who the best player is. Everyone gets to vote on who they think should win, but some people might choose a different person than you.

The Bradley-Terry Model is a way to figure out who is the best player based on everyone’s votes. It’s like adding up all the votes and seeing who got the most.

But sometimes, some people’s votes might be more important than others. Maybe someone who’s really good at the game knows what makes a player great and their vote should count for more.

And sometimes, some players might be better than others, so they should get more votes. The Bradley-Terry Model takes all of these things into account when deciding who is the best player.

It’s like taking all the information from everyone’s votes and putting them together to get a fair and accurate answer.
