ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Breakdown (vehicle)

Hey kiddo, have you ever been driving in a car and suddenly it stops working and won't move anymore? That's what we call a "breakdown." It's when something goes wrong with the car that makes it stop running like it should.

There are a lot of different things that can cause a breakdown. Sometimes it's because the car runs out of gas, which is like when you run out of milk for your cereal. Other times it's because something important in the car, like the engine or battery, stops working properly. It's kind of like if your toy robot suddenly stops moving because the batteries died.

When your car breaks down, it's important to pull over to the side of the road if you can do it safely. Then you might need to call for help. Maybe you call a tow truck that can take your car to a repair shop where they can figure out what went wrong and fix it. Just like when you get a boo-boo and you need to go to the doctor to feel better, the car needs some special attention to start working again.

So remember: a breakdown is when something goes wrong with the car that makes it stop working, and sometimes you need to call for help to get it fixed.
