Brinell scale

The Brinell Scale is a way to measure how hard something is. Using a tool called an indenter, a hard, pointed object, scientists press it into an object and measure the indent. The harder the object, the shallower the indent. They rate the hardness of things on a scale from 1 to 600. The higher the number, the harder the object.
