ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Brining

Brining is when you put something like chicken, beef or fish in a bowl filled with salty water. The salt water absorbs into the food, making it tasty and juicy when you cook it. This happens because the salt water draws the moisture out of the food and then it is absorbed back in, creating a flavorful and juicy end result.
