Brodie landing system

When big planes land, they need a lot of space and speed to slow down and come to a stop. The Brodie landing system helps with this process by using big metal hooks that stick out from the back of the plane.

As the plane touches down on the runway, the hooks snag onto wires that are stretched across the runway. These wires are connected to a system of pulleys that slow down the plane by using friction. Think of it like trying to stop a toy car by pushing it along a rug.

The Brodie landing system is like brakes for a plane! With this system, planes can land safely on shorter runways or in areas with limited space.
