Brownian ratchet

A brownian ratchet is like a machine with a turning wheel and some steps. The wheel turns, and the steps move up and down in an alternating pattern (like stepping stones). When the wheel turns, the steps move down, and when it stops, they move up. This makes it possible to move things uphill, even though the energy of the wheel is not enough to do it by itself.
