ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bryozoa

Bryozoa are tiny creatures that live together in large colonies. The colonies can look like little trees or bushes, and you might see them on rocks or shells at the beach.

Each individual bryozoa is called a zooid, and they look kind of like little cups or boxes. Inside the zooid, there's a small creature with tentacles that it uses to grab tiny particles of food from the water.

The zooids are connected to each other by tubes that allow them to exchange food and other nutrients. This is really helpful because it means that the entire colony can share resources and work together to stay alive.

Bryozoa are really important for the health of marine environments because they help to filter the water and keep it clean. Without them, the ocean could become more polluted and less healthy for all the other creatures that live there.
