Buccaneer

Ahoy there, matey! Have you ever heard of pirate ships and the brave sailors who sailed the seas looking for treasure? A buccaneer is another name for those pirate sailors!

Buccaneers were pirates who roamed the Caribbean Sea during the 17th century, and they were known for being very sneaky and cunning. They would attack and rob other ships, taking any gold, jewels or valuable items they could find.

But buccaneers were not just violent robbers! They also did some fishing and hunting to feed themselves and their crew. They cooked the meat over a fire and created a special way to cook and preserve it called "jerking." The meat was then sold to passing ships or traded for goods or money.

Buccaneers had their own code of conduct called the "Articles of Agreement." This was a set of rules on how they behave on board, how to share the loot and how to resolve disputes between members. There was even a punishment, usually called "keelhauling," where a sailor was tied to a rope and dragged under the ship's keel as a form of punishment for breaking the rules!

In summary, buccaneers were pirate sailors who sailed the seas in search of treasure, were sneaky but also did some hunting and fishing, had a code of conduct, and had their own unique way of preserving meat through "jerking." Arrrrrr!
