ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Buddhist atomism

Buddhist atomism is an idea that things are made up of really tiny, tiny pieces called atoms. Think of a Lego set - you have small pieces that fit together to make bigger things like a car or a castle. Atoms are like the small Lego pieces. They are so small that you can't see them with your eyes.

Buddhists believe that these atoms come together to create everything in the world around us, like the trees, the sky, and even our own bodies. Atoms are always moving and changing, and when they come together in different ways, they can create different things.

This is similar to how you can use different Lego pieces to create different things. Like how you can use red and blue pieces to make a house or yellow and green pieces to make a tree. Atoms can also combine to create things like sound, smells, and tastes.

Buddhist atomism also says that atoms aren't just in physical things. They are also in our thoughts and feelings. So, if you're happy, there are atoms in your brain that are responsible for that feeling.

Overall, Buddhist atomism is the idea that everything in the world, including our bodies and minds, is made up of really tiny atoms that come together in different ways to create the world around us.
