ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Buenos Aires Convention

Okay, so the Buenos Aires Convention is like a big agreement between a bunch of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. They all decided to work together to protect things that people create, like books, music, and art.

Here's how it works: let's say someone in Panama writes a really great song. That person can then make sure that their song is protected in all the other countries that signed the Buenos Aires Convention. So if someone tries to copy or steal their song, they can get in trouble because it's against the rules in the Convention.

It's kind of like having a giant club where everyone agrees to follow the same rules to protect people's creative work. And that way, artists and creators can feel more confident about sharing their work because they know it will be protected in all these different countries.
