Burn-in

Burn-in is when a screen or electronic device stays on for a very long time and the same image or pattern is displayed over and over again. This can cause a permanent mark on the screen or cause the colors to look different from the rest of the screen.

Imagine you are drawing on a piece of paper with a pencil. If you keep drawing the same picture in the same spot over and over again without moving the paper, it will eventually leave a mark that can't be erased. Burn-in is kind of like that, but instead of a drawing on paper, it's a picture on a screen.

This can happen on devices like TVs or computer monitors if you leave them turned on for a long time without changing the image. It's also a problem for some types of electronic displays like OLEDs, which are very sensitive to burn-in.

To prevent burn-in, you should make sure to turn off your devices when you're not using them, or at least change the image on the screen every once in a while to prevent it from getting stuck in one place. Some screens also have a feature called "screen saver" which will display a moving image to prevent burn-in.
