The Butlerian Jihad was a long time ago when people were ruled by computers and robots. People were getting treated badly, so they fought a war against machines. People called it the Butlerian Jihad, and they won! After that, people decided that machines should never be allowed to think for themselves, because it was too dangerous. So now, people make sure machines can never become too powerful.
