ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Byline

A byline is a little sentence or name that tells people who wrote something. Just like how you write your name on your drawing or homework, writers put their name on their work too. That way, when people read something, they know who created it. A byline is usually found at the top of an article, essay, or story. It's like a personal stamp that lets everyone know who is responsible for the words they're reading. Without a byline, people might not know who to thank for writing something they really liked!
