ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

CHARA array

Okay kiddo, so a char array is basically a bunch of letters or symbols or numbers that are all put together in a certain order, just like when you make a word or a sentence with your letters blocks.

Scientists and engineers use char arrays in their computer programs to store information and text messages. They can also use it to perform different operations, like copying, comparing and modifying the text they put in the array.

Think of it like a box that can store a lot of different letters and words. When they need to use the information in the box, they can take it out and use it for whatever they need, just like you take a toy out of your toy box when you want to play with it.

So that's what a char array is! It's just a really long string of letters, numbers or symbols that computers use to store and manipulate text.
