ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cab forward

Ok kiddo, imagine you have a toy car that you can control with a remote. The remote has buttons that make the car go forward, backward, left or right.

Now, imagine that the toy car has a special design where the part that has the driver and the engine is at the front, instead of being at the back like most cars you see on the road. This is what we call a cab forward design.

This design is not just for toys, real cars and trucks can also have a cab forward design. It means that the driver and the engine are closer to the front of the vehicle. This is good for a few reasons:

1. It gives the driver a better view of the road ahead. Think of it like sitting in the front of the classroom instead of in the back. You can see everything better!

2. It helps with weight distribution. By moving the heavy engine and driver towards the front of the vehicle, it can make the car or truck more stable on the road.

3. It can make the vehicle more aerodynamic, which means it can go faster and use less fuel. This is because the air flows better around the cab forward design, reducing drag.

So, to summarize, a cab forward design means that the driver and engine are at the front of the vehicle. This can give the driver a better view, help with weight distribution, and improve aerodynamics.
