Cabinet of curiosities

Hey there Kiddo! Have you ever heard of a “Cabinet of Curiosities”? It’s a wonderful collection of odd and interesting things that people in the past used to collect and display!

Imagine that you are taking a walk in a forest and you find a shiny rock, a beautiful flower, a strange bug and an old coin. Now Imagine that you want to keep them safe so you put them in a special box so you can look at them again later. This special box is what is called a “Cabinet of Curiosities”.

But people didn’t just collect items from the forest, they collected all sorts of things like shells, bones, art, tools, natural history specimens, and much much more. Even famous explorers and scientists had their own cabinets of curiosities!

The cool thing about these cabinets is that they aren’t organized like a normal museum. Instead, the collector would arrange the items according to how they saw beauty, uniqueness, or even how rare they were. This way, each cabinet was completely unique and represented the collector's personal interests.

So, in short, a Cabinet of Curiosities is a cabinet where people used to keep all sorts of interesting things that they found, and each one was unique because it showed the collector's personal interests!
