Cafeteria Catholicism

Hey there kiddo! So, you know how at the cafeteria, you get to choose exactly what foods you want to eat and leave the stuff you don't want? Well, there are some people who do that with their religion too. They pick and choose which parts of their religion they want to follow and which parts they want to ignore. This is called "cafeteria Catholicism".

For example, a Catholic might believe in the teachings of the Church about being kind and loving to everyone, but they might not agree with the Church's rules about contraception or attending Mass every Sunday. They just take what they like and leave what they don't like, kind of like picking their favorite foods from a cafeteria line.

Some people think this is not a good way to practice your religion because they believe you should follow all of the rules and teachings of your religion. But other people think it's okay to have your own personal beliefs and still be Catholic. What do you think, kiddo?
