The fall of Rome was a long process that took place over many years. It started when invaders from other regions attacked Rome and caused a lot of destruction. Rome also had a lot of problems within its own government, like too much power for the emperor and too much money being spent on luxuries. These problems eventually led to Rome being divided into two parts, the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire. The Western Roman Empire was eventually taken over by the Barbarians, a group of people who were considered to be very uncivilized, while the Eastern Roman Empire continued until 1453. This long period of decline and chaos eventually led to Rome collapsing completely.
