ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Calchus

Calculus is like playing with Legos. You have a big pile of blocks, but you want to build something specific like a tower or a castle. So you need to figure out how many blocks you need, where each block should go, and how you can put them together to make what you want.

In the same way, calculus helps you figure out how things change over time. It can help you figure out how things will change in the future by understanding how they have changed in the past. You can compare different things and see how they relate to each other, like how fast one car is going compared to another car.

Calculus has two parts: differentiation and integration. Differentiation is when you figure out how things change over time, like how fast a car is going. Integration is when you put together all of the information you have to figure out how things will change in the future, like how far the car will travel.

So, if you want to build a Lego tower or figure out how fast a car is going, you use calculus just like you use Legos. You calculate each piece and put them all together to get the result you want.
