Picus

Picus is a type of bird, kind of like a woodpecker. They use their beaks to peck at trees and dig out little holes, which they then use for their homes and for storing food.

Picus birds are special because they have a really cool way of communicating with each other. They make loud drumming sounds by repeatedly tapping their beaks on the trees. Other Picus birds can hear these sounds from far away and know where their friends are and what they're doing.

Overall, Picus birds are important members of the forest ecosystem because they help control insect populations, create homes for other animals, and spread the seeds of different plant species.
