Planets are big balls of rocks and gas that orbit around the sun. They are really far away, and it takes a really long time to get from one planet to another. All the planets in our solar system are round like a beach ball, and they all move around the sun. The sun is the biggest and brightest object in our solar system and all the planets move around it. The closest planet to the sun is Mercury, and the furthest away is Neptune.
