ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Canadian Forces Radio and Television

Do you know that some people have jobs that are all about telling stories, keeping us informed, and making us laugh? One group of people who do this are called the Canadian Forces Radio and Television. Their job is to make sure that the men and women in the Canadian Forces are connected with the world outside while they are working really hard to keep our country safe.

When soldiers are away from their families on missions in different parts of the world, they might feel lonely or homesick. The radio and television team helps out by producing shows, news, and even music that the soldiers can tune into to feel a little closer to home. These shows are broadcasted on radio and television stations that are made just for the Canadian Forces, in different parts of the world!

The Canadian Forces Radio and Television also plays an important role in sharing information. They tell soldiers what is happening in the world and how Canada is being represented. They are kind of like special reporters who give news updates that are tailored to the military community.

Finally, the radio and television team also helps celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the Canadian Forces. For example, they might broadcast a special event or ceremony that's happening in a far-off land or in a Canadian Forces Base. This way, even the friends and the family of the soldiers who are not there can still be a part of the big moments.
