Candy making

Candy making is like cooking, but instead of making food like dinner or dessert, we make treats that we can eat as snacks, like gummy bears, lollipops, or chocolate bars!

To make candy, we need a recipe. A recipe is like a special list of instructions that will tell us what ingredients to use and how to mix them together.

The ingredients we need for candy making are usually sugar, corn syrup, flavorings, and different kinds of decorations like sprinkles, nuts, or dried fruit.

First, we need to heat up the sugar and corn syrup in a big pot. The pot sits on a hot stove and we have to be very careful not to touch it because it is very hot and can burn us.

When the sugar and corn syrup start to heat up, they start to change color and become thicker. This is because we are cooking them and it's important to stir the mixture so that it doesn't stick to the pot.

Once the sugar and corn syrup are cooked, we add flavorings like vanilla or fruit juice, and mix it all together.

After that, we can pour the mixture into molds or onto a flat surface to cool and harden. When it's cooled down, we can add decorations like sprinkles or nuts so that it looks pretty and tastes extra yummy!

Making candy is really fun, but we have to be careful to follow the recipe and pay attention to the hot stove so that we don't get hurt. And remember, candy is a special treat and we shouldn't eat too much of it all the time!
