Cantalejo

Cantalejo is a type of traditional Spanish house that is made out of stone. It has a lot of thick walls and a roof made out of earthenware tiles. These houses were usually built by farmers a long time ago to protect themselves from harsh weather and enemies.

Think about a big castle, but smaller and made out of stones. Cantalejos are smaller than castles because they were built for families rather than soldiers. They are also different from other houses because of their special design.

Cantalejos have very small windows and doors to keep out the cold air in winter and to keep the house cool in summer. They also have a special chimney that goes all the way up to the roof. This helps keep smoke and heat out of the house.

Most cantalejos have a big and open living room called a "zaguán" where people can come together to talk and eat. The living room connects to other rooms in the house, like the kitchen and the bedrooms.

Overall, cantalejos are special houses that stand out because of their unique design and materials. They were used by farmers as a way to protect their families long ago, and today, many people still visit them to experience a piece of history.
