ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Canvas

A canvas is like a big piece of paper that you can draw on with special pens or paint. Imagine having a whiteboard where you can draw anything you like on it with colourful markers or chalk. A canvas works the same way as a whiteboard, but it's a lot larger and can be used for painting too.

The canvas is usually made out of cotton or linen fabric, which is then stretched tightly over a wooden frame. The fabric is like the paper or whiteboard, and the frame keeps it nicely flat and not wobbly. This makes it really easy to draw or paint on the canvas without any problems.

Once the canvas is stretched and ready to use, you can start creating your art! Some people like to use pencils and draw really detailed pictures, and others prefer to use paint to create big, bold scenes. Whatever you decide to create, the canvas is ready and waiting for you to bring your imagination to life.
