Capacitive sensing

Have you ever played with a touch screen on a phone or tablet and wondered how it knows when you touch it? That's because of something called capacitive sensing.

So, when we touch a screen, our fingers have a tiny electrical charge. Capacitive sensing works by detecting that electrical charge on the surface of the screen.

It's kind of like playing tag. The screen is "it" and it's trying to tag your finger. But, if you touch the screen, your finger is saying "gotcha!" and the screen knows exactly where you touched.

Capacitive sensing is a really cool way to detect touch because it's fast and accurate. It's used in all kinds of things, like phones, tablets, and even some keyboards. So, the next time you tap on your phone screen, you'll know how it knows exactly where your fingers are!
