Caravan of Death

The caravan of death was a group of soldiers in Chile who were part of a military dictatorship that ruled the country from 1973 to 1990. These soldiers were responsible for carrying out the orders of their leaders, which often involved kidnapping, torturing, and murdering people who were seen as threats to the government.

Imagine you and your friends are playing a game of make-believe, and you're the leader. You give your friends different tasks to do, just like the leaders in the Caravan of Death gave their soldiers tasks to do. But instead of playing a fun game, the soldiers were ordered to do very bad things to people who didn't agree with the government, just like you wouldn't want your friends to hurt each other.

The soldiers would travel to different places in an army truck, like a big bus, and pick up people who they thought were against the government. They would take them away and hurt them, sometimes even killing them. This is very bad and not something that anyone should ever do.

Eventually, the Caravan of Death was stopped and those responsible for the crimes were held accountable, but it is important that we learn about it to make sure that such terrible things do not happen again. It is important to be kind to one another and never hurt someone just because they have a different opinion.
