Carbon monoxide poisoning

Carbon monoxide poisoning is when your body takes in too much of a colorless, odorless gas called "carbon monoxide". Our bodies need clean, fresh air to breathe, but carbon monoxide is dangerous because when it builds up in our bodies, it replaces the oxygen that we breathe. Without oxygen, our bodies can't work properly and can make us sick or even die. You can get carbon monoxide poisoning from things like smoking, burning wood, or from car exhaust. To stay safe, make sure to have a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector in your home, so if too much of the gas is around you can get out quickly. When you have a car, make sure to get it serviced regularly.
