Card standards

Alright, so you know how you have different kinds of cards for different games like Uno, Go Fish or Pokemon? Well, the cards for those games have to follow certain rules so that everyone knows how to play and which card is which, right? That's where card standards come in.

Card standards are like a set of rules or guidelines that card makers follow to make sure all the cards they produce are the same size, shape, and have the same information on them. This helps players know which cards they have and where they need to go on the playing area.

There are different types of card standards for different types of games. For example, Uno cards follow a standard created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) called ISO 216, while Pokemon cards follow a standard called the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game Standard.

These standards include things like the size of the cards, the thickness, and the corner radius (how round the edges are). They also dictate what information must be on the cards, such as the card name, picture, and any special abilities it might have.

So, when you're playing a game with cards, just remember that those cards are following certain rules (card standards) that help you and everyone else playing the game understand how to play and what cards are being used.
