Okay, so you know how sometimes we see lots and lots of cars driving around our city, right? Well, there are some people who think that maybe we should have cities where there aren't any cars at all!
Imagine a city where we can only walk, bike, or take public transportation like buses and trains to get around. This is called a car-free city.
Now, why would anyone want a city without cars? One reason is that cars can create pollution that can make people sick and harm the environment. Plus, a lot of people like walking, biking, and taking public transportation because it's good exercise and it's better for our health.
In a car-free city, there would be more space for people to walk and play. We wouldn't have to worry as much about cars hitting us when we're crossing the street. And because there wouldn't be cars driving around, the air would be cleaner and we wouldn't have to worry as much about the pollution.
However, building a car-free city would be really hard. There are lots of things that need to be considered, like how people will get around if there are no cars, how to transport goods in and out of the city, and how to make sure emergency vehicles like ambulances can still get where they need to go.
So, while a car-free city might sound cool, it's not something that can happen overnight. But, it's definitely something that people are thinking about and trying to plan for the future.
