Carr-Benkler wager

The Carr-Benkler wager is a bet that two computer scientists, Nick Carr and Yochai Benkler, made about the future of the internet. Nick Carr said that companies like Google and Facebook would control most of the information on the internet, while Yochai Benkler said that people and communities would have more control over our data on the internet. They argued about this back and forth until they decided to make a bet – whoever was right would get to pick something the other person had to do. Yochai Benkler was right, so Nick Carr had to write a blog post saying that Yochai's ideas were right. In other words, they made a bet to see who could predict the future of the internet better.
